A developing Cape Coral community

Plan your fence around the property.

Hudson Creek is a developing mixed-use community in northwest Cape Coral, along the Burnt Store Road corridor. Public reporting also identifies the project as Star Farms of Cape Coral. The City’s July 22, 2026 meeting summary records approval of the Star Farms at Cape Coral Community Development District.

Florida Fence Pros can help you think through a future yard enclosure, pool barrier or gate layout. For a home still under construction, start with the builder’s lot plan, expected handover and contractor-access requirements. An onsite estimate depends on safe, authorized access to the property.

Community fence standards: We have not verified a publicly available Hudson Creek or Star Farms of Cape Coral homeowner fence guideline. Allowed materials, colors, heights and locations must be confirmed for your specific lot before a design is finalized.

Before you order materials

Confirm the community rules and city requirements.

A city standard does not establish permission for an individual Hudson Creek lot. Review the applicable development conditions, recorded restrictions and current builder or association documents alongside the City’s requirements.

01 · Community review

Get the current documents.

Ask the builder or association which rules apply to your phase and lot, who reviews exterior changes and whether fences are allowed. Request the fence specifications and application, if one is required. Keep any written approval and its conditions.

02 · Lot and layout

Check the survey.

Mark the proposed fence, gates and house location. Identify easements, drainage, utilities and any lake, preserve or common-area boundary. Confirm who owns the land and where installation access is permitted.

03 · City review

Use the right permit route.

Cape Coral’s January 2026 new residential fence guideline requires a site plan and Burrowing Owl/Gopher Tortoise Affidavit. Additional documents depend on the parcel and scope. Pool barriers use separate guidance.

Cape Coral’s published residential baseline

The City’s residential fence guide generally limits height to 6 feet, with an 8-foot allowance next to commercial property. For single-family homes and duplexes, fences cannot extend ahead of the primary structure’s foremost point. Waterfront rear-yard fences have open-mesh requirements above 3 feet within the rear 20 feet. Public easements can restrict materials, and the property must be improved to qualify for a fence permit.

These are general city provisions, not Hudson Creek approvals. Confirm current zoning, development conditions, lot restrictions and the proposed design with the appropriate reviewer.

How we can help

Turn your goals into a clear project scope.

FENCE LAYOUT

Make room for everyday use.

Tell us whether your priority is pets, yard access, a pool barrier or boundary definition. We can review the usable area and proposed fence route once your survey and applicable rules are available.

MATERIALS & GATES

Choose after the rules are clear.

Compare the permitted designs, gate widths and access needs. Our broader fence and gate services are available for review; no material shown on our website is automatically approved for Hudson Creek.

NEW-HOME TIMING

Coordinate with your builder.

Confirm possession, grading, landscaping, irrigation and access before scheduling work. We can prepare a written scope around the information available and explain what still needs to be resolved.

What to bring to your estimate.

  • Your property address, lot number and phase.
  • A current survey or builder lot plan.
  • Applicable restrictions, fence specifications and review instructions.
  • Your preferred fence route, gate locations and intended use.
  • Expected home completion and authorized site-access details.

Hudson Creek fence questions.

Is Hudson Creek also called Star Farms?

Yes. The March 2026 Cape Coral Breeze development update identifies Star Farms of Cape Coral as Hudson Creek. City records also use the Star Farms at Cape Coral CDD name. Confirm the current project, phase and lot information with your builder.

Are fences allowed in Hudson Creek?

We have not verified community-specific homeowner fence rules. Ask the builder or association for the governing documents and written requirements for your lot. City allowances alone do not establish community approval.

Can I choose aluminum, vinyl or chain link now?

Wait until the allowed material, color, height and placement are confirmed. We can discuss options and prepare a proposed layout, but we will not describe a design as community-approved without the applicable documentation.

Can we plan before my home is complete?

Yes. Start with your lot plan, project goals and builder’s schedule. Final measurements, pricing and installation timing depend on site conditions, authorized access and the required approvals.

Does a pool fence follow the same checklist?

Cape Coral publishes a separate pool-barrier fence guideline. Tell us if the fence will serve as a pool safety barrier so the layout, gates and permit documentation can be reviewed for that purpose.

How do I get an estimate?
